Delta Air Lines has been ranked No. 3 on the 2025 PEOPLE Companies that Care List, an annual recognition by PEOPLE magazine. The list evaluates companies based on employee survey responses and company data, reflecting the experiences of more than 8.4 million employees nationwide.

This year’s rankings were determined from over 1.3 million employee survey responses, with more than 1 million coming from employees at eligible companies.

“Delta people demonstrate a deep level of care in everything they do – it’s the Delta Difference,” said Allison Ausband, Delta’s Chief People Officer. “I am inspired by the actions of the more than 100,000 people who make Delta, the Delta experience and the world a better place.”

Delta was recognized for several initiatives aimed at supporting its workforce and communities. The Delta Care Fund, managed and funded by employees as a nonprofit organization, distributed over $6.6 million in grants during 2024 to help colleagues facing unexpected personal crises. Additionally, Delta’s emergency savings program enabled 49,000 employees to begin earning $1,000 after completing a financial education course and provided access to individual financial coaching.

In 2024, Delta employees and customers raised $18 million for seven long-term nonprofit partners. Employees also volunteered a total of 124,000 hours in community service activities such as building homes with Habitat for Humanity, constructing playgrounds with KABOOM!, planting trees, packing meal kits, and participating in beach cleanups.

The airline also continued its partnership with the American Red Cross; contributions from employees, retirees and customers resulted in a record donation of 15,585 units of blood in 2024. This achievement secured Delta's position as the No. 1 U.S. corporate blood drive sponsor for eight consecutive years.

Environmental efforts were highlighted through initiatives like the Carbon Council and GreenUp business resource group (BRG), along with sustainable flight programs designed to help reduce environmental impact and move toward net-zero emissions by 2050.

The PEOPLE Companies that Care List is compiled using responses to employee experience questions and essays submitted by participating organizations.
