Paul Baldoni, S.V.P. - Americas Pricing and Revenue Management | Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines is inviting its SkyMiles Members and employees to participate in a new initiative that allows them to vote on the airline’s next European destination. Through the first-ever Route Race, Delta aims to involve its community directly in network planning for summer 2026.

Delta currently operates flights to over 300 destinations worldwide and has continued expanding its global reach. This summer, the airline introduced its largest transatlantic schedule to date, which included Delta’s first nonstop service to Sicily.

Paul Baldoni, Senior Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, said: “SkyMiles Members and Delta people are at the center of everything Delta does. The Route Race is a celebration of their influence, giving our community a voice in where they want to fly next and inviting them to help shape Delta’s global network. The destinations where Delta flies are more than just dots on a map – they’re gateways to culture, connection and possibility, and this is a chance for our Members and employees to bring one of them closer.”

The three Mediterranean options under consideration are Sardinia (Italy), Malta, and Ibiza (Spain). Each location offers distinct experiences:

- Sardinia is known for its scenic landscapes, ancient ruins, and status as one of the world’s five “Blue Zones,” areas recognized for longevity linked to active lifestyles and Mediterranean diets.

- Malta features historic sites including megalithic temples older than Egypt's pyramids or Stonehenge. Visitors can explore Valletta’s old town or cruise the Blue Lagoon.

- Ibiza offers vibrant nightlife with renowned DJ venues but also quieter options such as hidden coves and nearby Formentera island.

Delta highlights that SkyMiles Membership provides exclusive benefits beyond travel rewards, now extending into decisions about future route offerings.
