Two Airbus A321neo aircraft, each only six years old, are set to be dismantled for spare parts. The planes were previously operated by IndiGo for nearly six years before being purchased by Setna iO, a company specializing in the aircraft aftermarket sector.
This move highlights ongoing challenges in the aviation industry, where supply chain disruptions and shortages of critical components continue to affect operations. Airlines and maintenance providers have increasingly turned to parting out relatively new airframes as a solution to obtain necessary spares more quickly than waiting for new parts from manufacturers.
