JetBlue Airways is making adjustments to its Tampa network, including the suspension of flights to Newark Liberty International Airport and the discontinuation of service to Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport. The airline will pause its twice-daily Tampa-Newark route starting December 1, 2025, with plans to resume on April 29, 2026. JetBlue has operated this nonstop route for nearly twenty years.

With JetBlue's temporary exit from the Tampa-Newark market, United Airlines will be the only carrier serving this busy route until late April next year. Service between Tampa and Rhode Island will also end on December 1, removing a connection that had been scheduled for daily flights next summer.

JetBlue launched its Tampa-Providence service in October 2020, discontinued it in May 2022, and relaunched it in October 2024. The airline has not commented further at this time.

In place of these suspended routes, JetBlue will add new services from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP), and Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). Flights to Fort Lauderdale begin December 4 with daily frequency; Punta Cana launches December 18 as a year-round daily flight; Islip service starts December 19 as a seasonal route operating four times weekly through April 29, 2026.

Introductory fares are being offered for these new routes: $139 each way to Punta Cana and $49 each way to Islip.

Beyond Tampa changes, JetBlue is expanding winter options from Boston Logan International Airport and New York JFK Airport by adding Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) and Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB) as destinations. Both Florida routes launch in early December with daily frequencies and introductory fares between $59-$69 each way.

Additionally, Islip will gain a seasonal connection to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) near Fort Myers beginning December 18 with three weekly flights until April 28, 2026.

JetBlue’s main hubs include Boston Logan International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, New York JFK Airport, Orlando International Airport, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Joanna Geraghty serves as CEO of the company.
