Delta Air Lines is encouraging its SkyMiles Members to make the most of their loyalty program through several everyday activities that do not require flying. As members plan trips or monitor their progress toward Medallion Status, Delta has highlighted various ways to earn and redeem miles.

Medallion Status can be achieved by earning Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) through flying with Delta and partner airlines, spending on eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards, or booking travel. Those who hold select Delta SkyMiles American Express Cards receive a $2,500 MQD head start each qualification year, which helps bring them closer to reaching or maintaining status. The thresholds for qualifying for 2027 Medallion Status will remain unchanged next year.

Members loyal to other airlines have the opportunity to switch their elite status to Delta at no cost, subject to terms.

Delta's partnership with Uber allows more than one million linked SkyMiles Members to automatically earn up to three miles per eligible dollar spent on qualifying rides and Uber Eats orders in the U.S. Eligible cardholders may also access an Uber One monthly credit when using a Delta SkyMiles American Express Card for membership fees paid by June 25, 2026. This offer provides a statement credit of up to $9.99 per month for six or twelve consecutive months, depending on the card type.

SkyMiles Dining enables members to earn miles by linking a credit or debit card and dining at participating restaurants across the country. There is no overall limit on miles earned, and new users receive additional rewards after their first dine.

With SkyMiles Shopping, purchases made at over 1,000 online retailers convert into miles when logged in through the dedicated portal. A browser extension notifies shoppers when opportunities are available and can help members earn up to twice as many miles on average.

SkyMiles Members can also accrue benefits from packages such as cruises, car rentals, hotel stays, and short-term rentals through Delta Vacations and other partners.

The program includes exclusive experiences accessible via SkyMiles Experiences. These range from special events like throwing out a first pitch at a baseball game to luxury weekends in Paris. The new bidding feature on SkyMiles Experiences allows eligible cardholders to use their miles for unique opportunities including VIP events and culinary experiences.

Membership in SkyMiles is free and comes with immediate benefits such as fast Wi-Fi presented by T-Mobile on most flights.

"SkyMiles Members can go beyond the flight with products for all their travel and vacation needs. From expertly curated Delta Vacations packages to cruises, car rentals and millions of hotel or short-term rental properties – SkyMiles Members get exclusive benefits like earning and using miles and earning toward Status on select bookings," according to the company.

"With , SkyMiles Members can access unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime moments – whether it’s throwing the first pitch at a baseball game, a styling session with a celebrity stylist, or an all-inclusive wellness experience to level up your rest and relaxation."

"And now, the on SkyMiles Experiences is a new way for Delta SkyMiles American Express Card Members to get even more value from their Membership by bidding on exclusive experiences using their miles.
