Frontier Airlines has announced new incentives for its credit card holders and loyalty program members, aiming to attract frequent flyers from competing airlines. The Denver-based carrier revealed that customers who spend $3,000 on the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard will receive a companion travel certificate, allowing them to bring a friend or family member on a flight for only the cost of government taxes and fees.

Additional certificates are available at higher spending levels: a second certificate at $10,000, a third at $20,000, and unlimited companion travel for those reaching $50,000 in spending. The unlimited companion benefit coincides with earning Platinum status in the airline’s loyalty program. These offers are valid through January 31, 2026.

The companion certificates can be used for one-time round-trip travel and expire one year after they are issued. Each dollar spent on the credit card also counts toward elite-qualifying miles for status upgrades. The card comes with an annual fee of $99 and includes two free checked bags on all Frontier flights.

In addition to these credit card perks, Frontier introduced a "miles match" promotion. New members who join the Frontier Miles program by September 26 can have their miles matched up to what they hold in other eligible airline loyalty accounts. However, participants must first earn an equivalent number of miles with Frontier before receiving the matched bonus. This offer is limited to new members and capped at one million miles.

Last week, Frontier announced it would grant Gold status to loyalty members from Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue or Spirit Airlines.

"No other U.S. airline is giving travelers this much value," said Bobby Schroeter, Chief Commercial Officer at Frontier.

These promotions come as budget airlines face financial challenges compared to larger carriers that offer premium services and international routes. Frontier hopes that enhanced benefits—including its upcoming first-class seats—will appeal to travelers who may not have previously considered flying with low-cost airlines.
