Alaska Airlines was the first U.S. airline to introduce digital baggage tags, which have been tested on various routes, including flights to and from Hawaii and between New York and California. The electronic bag tags are produced by Bagtag.
Bagtag recently announced that its digital bag tags can now be used on Hawaiian Airlines flights. The devices are priced at $89 and may appeal to frequent travelers with Alaska or Hawaiian Airlines.
Currently, the bag tags are compatible with Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Airlines, SkyWest flights operated by Alaska, Oneworld partner Qatar Airways, and Alaska partner Icelandair. Customers can purchase them online through the Bagtag section of Alaska’s website and receive them by mail. For a limited time, a two-pack is available using the code "ALASKAPAIR" at checkout.
