KLM is operating its Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner on 22 routes from Amsterdam in September, according to the latest schedule data. The airline's mainline fleet consists of 120 aircraft, with more than half being widebodies. The 787-10s are the youngest widebody type in KLM’s fleet, averaging just under four years old, and the most recent delivery arrived in August 2025. KLM currently has 13 of these aircraft.

The Boeing 787-10 can carry up to 318 passengers and is second only to the airline’s Boeing 777-300ERs in capacity. However, due to its higher weight, it has a shorter range compared to other Dreamliner variants.

In September, KLM will use the 787-10 on flights to destinations including Los Angeles, Dar es Salaam, Delhi, Kilimanjaro, Mumbai, Bogotá, Calgary, Cartagena, Chicago O'Hare, Nairobi, New York JFK, San Francisco, Bengaluru, and Toronto. Some routes are served daily while others have less frequent service or operate only on specific dates.

Two destinations—Kilimanjaro/Dar es Salaam and Bogotá/Cartagena—are served using triangular routing rather than direct flights.

Los Angeles is KLM’s busiest route for the 787-10. The airline has operated this aircraft type to LA since 2020 and runs up to two daily passenger flights between Amsterdam and Los Angeles. Between June 2024 and May 2025, Department of Transportation data shows that KLM carried about 306,000 round-trip passengers on this route with a seat occupancy rate of around 90%. Despite these numbers, the route did not rank among the top ten US routes by load factor.

During September there will be a total of 342 departures from Amsterdam using the Boeing 787-10. This represents a significant increase from last year as more aircraft have joined the fleet. On select days such as September 18th, there will be as many as thirteen daily departures with this aircraft type; this number is expected to rise further later in the year.
