Mark Mix, president of the National Right to Work Committee and National Right to Work Foundation, released a statement ahead of Labor Day 2025 emphasizing the importance of honoring American workers by protecting their freedom regarding union membership.
Mix stated, "No one should forget the reason for the festivities on Labor Day: Honoring America’s hardworking men and women, who power the most prosperous and innovative country in the world. Yet too often they’re forgotten by those in the halls of power. Today we should celebrate those workers by respecting their rights, including, critically, their Right to Work: The freedom to decide to join or financially support a union, or refrain from doing so."
He referenced polling data that shows strong public support for worker choice in union affiliation. According to Mix, "The facts are clear. The American public at large, and unionized workers in particular, want a free choice when it comes to affiliating with a union. Around eight in 10 Americans consistently express agreement with the Right to Work principle, and polls of unionized workers show similar sentiment."
