Beach travelers will soon have new flight options to Dominica as Contour Airlines is set to begin nonstop service connecting Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) with Cyril E. King Airport (STT) in St. Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU). The flights are scheduled to launch on September 24.

Contour Airlines will operate these routes using 30-seat Embraer regional jets configured in a 2-1 seating layout. Passengers can expect complimentary beverages and snacks during the flight.

The DOM-STT route will operate three times weekly—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—starting September 24. The DOM-SJU route will run four times weekly—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays—from September 25.

Tickets for both routes are available through Contour’s website or via American Airlines at AA.com. However, bookings made through American Airlines must be paid with cash; miles cannot be used for these reservations.

These new flights come amid increased U.S. air service to Dominica in recent years. American Airlines began direct flights from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Dominica in 2021, followed by United Airlines starting service in February 2025 according to schedule data from aviation analytics firm Cirium. BermudAir’s subsidiary AnguillAir is also set to launch connections between Dominica and several major U.S. airports—including Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)—in December.

Contour’s new service partly replaces previous flights operated by Silver Airways, which abruptly ceased operations in June after having flown the DOM-SJU route until March based on Cirium schedules.

On the DOM-SJU route, Contour will compete with Caribbean Airlines while being the only carrier operating between DOM and STT.

"This development strengthens connectivity within the region and improves access for visitors, returning nationals and business travelers," said Denise Charles-Pemberton, tourism, ports and international transportation minister in Dominica. "We look forward to working with Contour Airlines as part of our ongoing efforts to support sustainable tourism growth and showcase Dominica's natural and cultural offerings."
