Virgin Atlantic recently transported a Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, valued at $5.3 million (£4 million), from London to Los Angeles as part of its regular cargo operations. The rare hypercar was flown on August 5 aboard Flight VS23, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner registered as G-VSPY. The flight departed from London Heathrow Airport and arrived at Los Angeles International Airport, covering over 5,000 miles.
The Jesko Absolut is produced by Swedish manufacturer Koenigsegg and is known for being one of the fastest cars in the world. It features a 1,600-horsepower twin-turbocharged V8 engine capable of speeds exceeding 300 mph.
Nick Diesel, Managing Director at Virgin Atlantic Cargo, commented on the operation: “It’s not every day you fly a £4 million hypercar on a passenger aircraft, but that’s exactly the kind of challenge our team excels at. From precision handling to specialist cargo processes, we’re proud to offer the kind of white-glove service trusted by collectors, curators, and creators around the world. Moving this extraordinary car was a privilege.”
