Ethiopian Airlines has marked 50 years of continuous service to Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The airline began operations in the DRC five decades ago and now provides 32 weekly passenger flights to three destinations: Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, and Goma. In addition to passenger services, Ethiopian Airlines also offers dedicated cargo flights to Kinshasa.
Group CEO Mr. Mesfin Tasew commented on the milestone: “As a Pan-African airline, celebrating 50 years of uninterrupted service to the Democratic Republic of the Congo is a big milestone for Ethiopian. The moment highlights our unwavering commitment to serving the nation and the entire continent in general. We are proud of the strong bond we have built with DRC and its nation over the 5 decades we’ve been operational in the country. As we rejoice this momentous occasion, we look forward to expanding our services more to the country and continue serving our passengers on the route.”
The airline’s flights between Ethiopia and DRC serve as an important link for both people and businesses across Africa. Ethiopian Airlines currently operates one of Africa's largest networks, providing both passenger and cargo services across many destinations.
