On September 4, about 250 primary school students from disadvantaged and multicultural backgrounds in Brisbane participated in a free sports day at the Pat Rafter Arena, Queensland State Tennis Centre. The event was part of Emirates’ Force for Good program, which aims to introduce tennis to children while supporting their physical and mental wellbeing.

The Schools Future Fit Program was organized by Youth of Tomorrow with funding from Emirates’ Force for Good initiative. Qualified coaches led on-court tennis activities, including Pop and Pickleball sessions and preventative mental health workshops.

Australian tennis player John Millman, an ambassador for the Australian Tennis Foundation, joined students for coaching sessions centered on enjoyment and social connection. Emirates mascots and cabin crew were also present. Participants received tennis-themed gifts and commemorative photos.

Emirates launched its Force for Good program in Australia in partnership with the Australian Tennis Foundation this year. The airline is investing $2.25 million over five years to help disadvantaged youth access tennis across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. The initiative offers structured environments where children can develop sporting skills and social connections.

In 2025 alone, the program expects to support about 3,000 children through 11 community initiatives involving more than 60 schools and clubs nationwide. Over 10,000 opportunities will be provided for kids to play tennis as part of these efforts.

So far this year, six community initiatives have started in cities including Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Sydney with over 800 participants involved.
