American Airlines has announced a new route that will become its shortest flight to date. Starting February 14, 2026, the airline’s regional affiliate Envoy Air will begin operating flights between Miami and South Bimini Airport (BIM) in the Bahamas. The service will run three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
The new Miami-Bimini route covers just 64 miles, making it shorter than American’s previous shortest flight between Chicago and Milwaukee by three miles. According to Cirium schedules, this new route is notable not only for its length but also because it introduces an all-new destination for American in the Bahamas.
Flights on this route will use Embraer E175 regional jets equipped with 12 first-class recliners, 20 Main Cabin Extra seats offering additional legroom, and 44 standard economy seats.
