Emirates Skywards, the loyalty program of Emirates and flydubai, has announced that members can now redeem their Miles for Classic Rewards and Upgrade Rewards to travel in Emirates’ Premium Economy cabin. The change is available immediately to more than 35 million Skywards members worldwide.

Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Skywards, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the introduction of flight rewards on Emirates’ highly coveted Premium Economy cabin. This has been in development for some time and comes following the huge success, positive feedback, and strong demand by members to utilise Miles on Premium Economy - especially on popular long-haul destinations such as London, Sydney, Melbourne, and New York. The offer will initially be available exclusively to our Skywards members, with plans to extend to other airline partners in the future. We are confident this enhancement will further enrich the travel experience, staying true to our brand promise of always flying customers better. We look forward to more of our members now having the opportunity to experience Emirates’ newest, luxurious cabin with a service that rivals many airlines’ Business Class.”

Skywards Miles can now be redeemed for full flight tickets in Premium Economy starting at 15,000 Miles one-way. Upgrades from Economy to Premium Economy start at 7,020 Miles one-way. Upgrades may be requested before departure or at check-in counters depending on availability.

In addition to these new redemption options with Emirates’ Premium Economy product—which has been recognized by awards such as ‘Best Premium Economy’ by AirlineRatings.com—Skywards recently expanded Classic Rewards redemptions across all flydubai flights starting from 5,000 Miles and revised its Cash+Miles rates.

The airline reports that nearly 500,000 tickets were purchased using Classic Rewards, Cash+Miles or Upgrade Rewards during summer 2025 for destinations including London, Paris, New York and Bangkok.

Emirates remains the only regional carrier offering a dedicated Premium Economy class. Features include dedicated airport check-in desks; leather seats up to 40 inches pitch with calf rests and footrests; upgraded meal service with premium wines; and an inflight entertainment system offering over 6,500 channels via a large screen.

Premium Economy cabins are currently available on flights serving more than 66 cities globally.

As part of a US$5 billion retrofit project aimed at upgrading its fleet interiors—including installation of Premium Economy—Emirates has so far refurbished 67 aircraft (32 A380s and 35 Boeing 777s) and received nine A350 aircraft fitted with this cabin type. The airline expects that by March 2026 it will serve 68 cities equipped with its Premium Economy product and will offer about two million seats annually in this class network-wide—a number projected to double by year-end.

Onboard configurations vary: Airbus A380s have 56 seats in a 2-4-2 layout at the front of the main deck; Boeing 777s have up to 24 seats also in a 2-4-2 configuration; while Airbus A350s feature up to 28 seats arranged in a 2-3-2 layout at the front of the plane.

Tickets are available through emirates.com, mobile apps, retail outlets or travel agents.
