On September 7, a Westjet Boeing 737-800 experienced a right main landing gear collapse while landing at Sint Maarten. The incident caused the aircraft’s right engine to scrape along the runway before coming to a halt. According to reports, there were no injuries among those on board.
Video footage of the event has circulated online, showing the moment the gear gave way as the plane touched down.
An investigation into the cause of the landing gear failure is expected.
