FedEx ha anunciado la incorporación de 72 nuevos vehículos eléctricos a su flota en México, como parte de su estrategia para reducir las emisiones de CO2 y avanzar hacia una operación más sustentable. Esta acción se da en el contexto del 35 aniversario de la compañía en el país.

Los nuevos vehículos eléctricos estarán operando desde distintos centros logísticos, incluido el Valle de México. Para apoyar esta modernización, FedEx ha realizado inversiones en infraestructura como estaciones de carga y herramientas digitales que optimizan rutas y reducen el consumo de combustible. Estas medidas buscan aumentar la eficiencia y contribuir al cumplimiento de los objetivos ambientales globales de la empresa.

“La sustentabilidad es un pilar fundamental de nuestra operación, y cada paso que damos hacia una flota más limpia es una inversión en el futuro del planeta. Como parte de esta visión, hoy incorporamos 72 nuevas unidades eléctricas a nuestra flota actual”, comentó Jorge Torres, vicepresidente de operaciones en FedEx México. “Este año, al celebrar 35 años de brindar soluciones que conectan a personas y empresas, reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con el desarrollo del comercio y una logística más responsable en nuestro país. Estamos convencidos que las decisiones que tomemos hoy son clave para garantizar un mañana más sustentable para las generaciones futuras”.

La empresa mantiene su meta global de operar una flota completamente eléctrica para el año 2040. Actualmente, FedEx realiza entregas con vehículos eléctricos en varios mercados internacionales y continúa expandiendo este enfoque tanto en México como en América Latina, donde también se están implementando proyectos similares en países como Brasil y Chile.

De acuerdo con su Informe de Responsabilidad Corporativa 2025, FedEx reporta avances significativos en la reducción de emisiones dentro de sus operaciones terrestres, aéreas e instalaciones. Entre los años fiscales 2023 y 2025, la compañía logró disminuir sus emisiones directas (Alcance 1) un 6.1% gracias a diversas iniciativas como la electrificación vehicular, modernización de aeronaves y uso de energías renovables.

La implementación de estrategias sostenibles es considerada esencial por la industria logística para mejorar eficiencia operativa y responder tanto a regulaciones ambientales como a las expectativas crecientes del mercado.
