Aer Lingus has announced the launch of a new direct route between Dublin and Indianapolis, Indiana, beginning on May 3, 2025. The airline will operate four flights per week, with return fares starting at €499. This addition marks Aer Lingus’s 19th direct North American destination from Dublin.

The new service aims to connect travelers with Indianapolis, a city known for its motorsport heritage and diverse cultural offerings. According to Aer Lingus, passengers will have access to complimentary onboard meals and personal in-flight entertainment screens on all transatlantic flights.

“Fly Aer Lingus from Dublin to Indianapolis and unlock one of the U.S.’s most unexpectedly delightful destinations,” the company stated.

Indianapolis is recognized as “The Racing Capital of the World,” hosting events such as the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The city also features professional sports teams including the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts, NBA’s Indiana Pacers, WNBA’s Indiana Fever, soccer club Indy Eleven, and baseball team Indianapolis Indians. Visitors can explore attractions like the NCAA Hall of Champions and several museums.

Cultural sites highlighted by Aer Lingus include the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields and the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art. The Mass Ave Arts District offers theater performances, comedy shows, live music, and art galleries.

For families, destinations such as The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis—the largest children’s museum in the world—and the Indianapolis Zoo are available. Other attractions include White River State Park and Indiana State Museum & IMAX Theatre.

Indianapolis also offers a variety of culinary experiences featuring local specialties like pork tenderloin sandwiches and sugar cream pie. Popular dining spots mentioned are Milktooth for brunch and Bluebeard for small plates made from locally sourced ingredients.

Travelers can enjoy outdoor activities along trails such as the Central Canal Walk or Monon Trail, both providing opportunities for walking or biking through urban green spaces.

Shopping districts like Broad Ripple Village and Fountain Square offer boutique stores alongside entertainment venues. Upscale shopping is available at The Fashion Mall at Keystone.

With this new route, Aer Lingus continues its expansion into North America by offering more travel options between Ireland and major U.S. cities.
