Hainan Airlines has announced on X the launch of new Singapore–Haikou–Changchun flights, commencing September 21. The service will operate four times a week under flight numbers HU447 and HU448.

According to CAPA – Centre for Aviation, air connectivity between Southeast Asia and China has been steadily recovering since early 2023 following the lifting of pandemic restrictions. The analysis indicates that Singapore is increasingly serving as a hub for connecting Southeast Asian travelers with secondary Chinese cities. The introduction of the Singapore–Haikou–Changchun service by Hainan Airlines aligns with this trend, strengthening both tourism and business links while diversifying route options.

As published on Hainan Airlines’ official website, the new route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The flights will run under the identifiers HU447 and HU448, offering consistent scheduling for both leisure and business passengers. By bridging Singapore, Haikou, and Changchun, the airline aims to connect tropical and northern cultural destinations, enhancing its network appeal.

According to the Singapore Tourism Board, China ranked among Singapore’s top five visitor markets in 2023, contributing 1.4 million arrivals as borders reopened. This figure underscores the strength of bilateral travel demand and the need for direct and multi-city services to facilitate tourism recovery. By providing seamless connections through Haikou to Changchun, Hainan Airlines is helping capture this resurgent demand and encouraging cross-regional travel.

According to Hainan Airlines’ corporate information, the carrier was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in Haikou, Hainan Province. It operates a fleet of more than 200 aircraft and serves routes spanning Asia, Europe, and North America. The airline has been recognized repeatedly as a Skytrax 5-Star Airline, demonstrating its commitment to passenger service, safety, and global network expansion.
