Allegiant Air has announced the launch of two nonstop routes to Burbank, California, and one nonstop route to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, starting in 2026. The announcement was made on X.

According to Simple Flying, Allegiant Air's network strategy focuses on connecting smaller U.S. cities to high-demand leisure markets rather than competing directly with major carriers on hub-to-hub routes. This approach allows Allegiant to avoid congestion at larger airports and maintain low operating costs while providing passengers with affordable nonstop service. The expansion into Burbank and Fort Lauderdale aligns with this model by linking regional airports such as Bellingham and Provo with popular destinations appealing to both leisure and business travelers.

As reported in Allegiant Air’s official newsroom release, the airline will commence nonstop service from Bellingham, Washington, and Provo, Utah, to Burbank, California, in 2026. This marks its first entry into the Burbank market. The carrier emphasized that these new routes will offer travelers easier access to the Los Angeles metropolitan area without transiting through Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), one of the world's busiest airports. By targeting Burbank, Allegiant aims to provide a more convenient and cost-effective alternative for travelers in the Pacific Northwest and Utah.

According to The Points Guy, Allegiant Air is also introducing a new nonstop route from Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, beginning in 2026. This service provides direct access for Chattanooga travelers to South Florida’s leisure hubs, including Fort Lauderdale’s beaches and the broader Miami metropolitan area. Analysts quoted by The Points Guy noted that Florida remains one of the strongest markets for leisure demand in the United States. Allegiant's expansion strengthens its East Coast network while capturing consistent year-round travel demand.

According to Allegiant Air’s corporate profile, the airline was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. It operates flights to over 120 destinations across the United States, focusing on connecting underserved regional airports with major leisure destinations. Allegiant highlights its ultra-low-cost model by offering nonstop point-to-point flights at affordable fares with leisure-focused services.
