“The centre sets new firsts and serves as best-in-class in aviation training, shaping our programmes and preparation for our future fleet. Above all, our pilots and instructors have shared stellar feedback on the new facility and that is immensely rewarding.”
A notable feature of the centre is its Pilot Support Station (PSS), developed internally by Emirates. This system allows pilots to prepare their flight deck configurations and build flight plans in an immersive environment before their sessions. Training sessions are recorded so instructors can review specific moments to improve performance.
The centre also uses advanced 3D printing technology to create components for its training equipment, which results in annual savings of up to AED 1 million.
Currently, two A350 full flight simulators are operational at the centre. Four more simulators—including those for Boeing 777X—are expected over the next few years. Each simulator can provide up to 7,500 hours of training annually for as many as 1,000 pilots.
When fully operational, Emirates will offer access to 17 simulators across its facilities—11 dedicated to A380s and Boeing 777s—expanding its total yearly pilot training capacity by 54% to approximately 130,000 hours.
Emirates’ first A350 simulator at the new centre received level D qualification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which is the highest rating available for this type of equipment. It is also recognized as the first globally at Airbus A350 Standard 1.3 with zero findings during qualification.
The facility includes four classrooms for recurrent, conversion, and command training courses led by experienced instructors using evidence-based methods.
In addition to this new centre, Emirates provides various professional development programs through other local institutions such as the Emirates Flight Training Academy for cadets, Emirates Aviation University, Emirates Cabin Crew Training Centre, and Emirates Aviation College. These institutions offer specialized technical and soft skills courses aimed at employees as well as members of the broader aviation community in Dubai.
