Fiji Airways has been named an APEX World Class Airline for 2026, ranking among the world's top 10 carriers. It is notably the smallest airline by fleet size to receive this distinction and the only one in Oceania recognized.

The APEX World Class certification is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the aviation industry. According to APEX, airlines must demonstrate sustained excellence across multiple areas to earn this recognition. The evaluation is based on a combination of independent third-party safety and service audits and verified passenger feedback from thousands of flights worldwide. Airlines are judged on factors such as safety and well-being, sustainability initiatives, guest experience, and food and beverage quality.

Fiji Airways' recognition as an APEX World Class Airline 2026 marks a historic achievement, being the smallest airline by fleet size ever to receive this award. As reported by PR Newswire, Fiji Airways has joined the ranks of major global airlines despite operating a significantly smaller fleet and route network. It is also the only carrier in Oceania to achieve this distinction this year.

According to JetSetterGuide, the award results from years of investment in upgrading inflight and ground services. Fiji Airways implemented changes including new service equipment, expanded sustainability practices, enhanced catering with locally sourced Fijian produce, and a program to train "World Class Trainers" who coached cabin crews in service delivery.

Fiji Airways serves as the flag carrier of Fiji with its headquarters in Nadi. Operating a fleet of 14 aircraft across 27 destinations, it is a member of the oneworld alliance, according to Wikipedia. This membership expands its reach through codeshare and interline agreements with partner airlines. Its recognition as an APEX World Class Airline underscores its role not only as Fiji's national airline but also as a boutique global carrier capable of competing with much larger airlines on service and quality.
