Cathay Pacific has announced on X that it has resumed flights to Seattle, marking its ninth passenger destination in North America. This move aims to enhance connectivity across its global network via Hong Kong.

According to The Seattle Times, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) served over 45 million passengers in 2022, establishing itself as one of the fastest-growing hubs in the United States. The airport plays a significant role as a West Coast gateway, facilitating connections between Asia and North America. Cathay Pacific's return strengthens Seattle's portfolio of trans-Pacific carriers, providing travelers with more options for direct access to Hong Kong and beyond.

Data from the Port of Seattle indicates that international passenger traffic exceeded 4.5 million in 2023, demonstrating strong recovery trends from pandemic lows. Asia emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments, highlighting the Pacific Northwest's significance in cross-Pacific travel. By resuming flights to Seattle, Cathay Pacific is tapping into this recovering market and aligning supply with traveler demand for routes bound for Asia.
