Etihad Airways has announced a limited-time promotion on the social media platform X for applicants of the Etihad Guest Visa Credit Card through UAE banks. The offer includes bonus miles, elevated travel status, exclusive discounts, and an opportunity to win two return first-class tickets.

According to Visa, co-branded airline credit cards are among the most effective tools for building customer loyalty. These cards provide benefits such as reward miles, lounge access, and seat upgrades. They also generate recurring revenue for airlines while strengthening customer retention, particularly among frequent flyers. Etihad's Guest Visa credit card promotion aligns with these global best practices by bundling high-value incentives to encourage new applications.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) boasts one of the most developed financial sectors in the Middle East, with a high adoption rate of credit cards among residents. According to Statista, nearly 50 percent of the UAE population held at least one credit card in 2023, demonstrating strong consumer acceptance of payment products tied to rewards. Etihad’s collaboration with four leading UAE banks aims to leverage this environment to maximize uptake of its co-branded card offerings.

As reported by Forbes, airline loyalty programs and their associated credit card partnerships are highly lucrative, generating billions annually for carriers in the United States alone. In some cases, loyalty revenue has surpassed ticket sales as the single most profitable business line for major airlines. Etihad Guest seeks to emulate this model in the Gulf region by offering elevated status and First Class ticket rewards to enhance customer engagement.

Etihad Airways was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi as the national airline of the United Arab Emirates. According to its corporate profile, the carrier operates a global network serving more than 70 destinations across various regions including the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and North America. Its Etihad Guest loyalty program has grown into one of the largest in the region, reinforcing customer loyalty through miles, partnerships, and financial products like the Visa promotion.
