Customers of Eurowings can now book codeshare flights directly through the airline’s website and app, following a recent update to its digital platform. The integration allows travelers to search for, book, and check in for codeshare flights with AEGEAN Airlines and Smartwings, expanding the available routes and increasing flight options.

The development of this new feature took nearly two years and involved collaboration with Lufthansa Group Hub Airlines, Lufthansa Systems, and Lufthansa Group Digital Hangar. The project lays the groundwork for integrating additional partner airlines in both codeshare and non-codeshare arrangements in the future.

“With the expansion of our marketplace on eurowings.com, we are bundling all relevant flight options in a single booking channel for the first time – giving our customers more choice, flexibility, and significantly more convenient handling,” said Michael Erfert, Head of Sales & Distribution at Eurowings and Managing Director of Eurowings Digital. “At the same time, we are strengthening our market position in digital sales and laying the foundation for the continuous expansion of our platform offering.”

Eurowings is now among a small number of airlines globally that offer both ticketless and ticketed flight options on one booking platform. This move enables combined bookings for Eurowings’ own flights as well as those operated by codeshare partners. The company says this will enhance its competitiveness as Germany’s largest leisure airline.
