Not all economy class seats offer the same level of comfort, and some airlines have distinguished themselves by providing passengers with more enjoyable experiences. The 2025 Skytrax World Airline Awards, based on millions of verified passenger surveys, highlight which carriers stand out in areas such as seat comfort, catering, inflight entertainment, and customer service.

Turkish Airlines ranks tenth for its extensive global network and full-service offerings in economy class. Passengers benefit from USB charging at every seat, complimentary meals and drinks, and practical amenities like travel kits. The airline's newer aircraft provide wider seats and improved legroom compared to older models.

Hainan Airlines is ninth on the list. Its Boeing 787s and Airbus A330s feature a 'bookshelf' cabin design that optimizes overhead storage and increases legroom. Each seat includes a personal entertainment screen, while meals and travel kits are provided on long-haul flights.

STARLUX Airlines holds the eighth spot due to its boutique approach. Operating only modern Airbus A350 and A321neo aircraft, STARLUX offers cabins with generous pitch (32–34 inches) and high-resolution entertainment systems. The airline has expanded its routes between Taipei and major U.S. cities since 2020.

Emirates is seventh, known for its extensive inflight entertainment system and strong meal service across nearly 100 cities worldwide. Cabin crew receive comprehensive training focused on safety and customer care.

EVA Air ranks sixth for combining modern design with comfort-focused seating such as shape-memory cushions on select aircraft. Passengers praise the attentive service and ergonomic layouts that help reduce fatigue during long-haul flights.

Japan Airlines is fifth with modern cabins featuring ample legroom, comfortable seating, and chef-curated cuisine. The airline operates a fleet including Boeing 787 Dreamliners to ensure quieter flights.

All Nippon Airways comes in fourth place with economy cabins prioritizing passenger comfort through ergonomic seats, generous legroom, and reliable inflight entertainment on both domestic and international routes. Meals are often praised for their quality: "Meals are often praised for their presentation, freshness, and variety, including Japanese and Western options. Economy passengers also receive complimentary beverages, with attentive service ensuring that dining is both efficient and enjoyable throughout the flight," according to this Reddit thread.

Singapore Airlines is third; it has been named World’s Best Airline five times by Skytrax. Its economy class features foldable headrests for added comfort, extra storage space overhead, USB charging ports at every seat, curated menus available before departure, mood lighting, ergonomic seating to reduce fatigue on long-haul journeys—all contributing to a refined experience.

Qatar Airways secures second place by offering spacious seating with generous legroom across its modern fleet of Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s. Ergonomic designs are complemented by extensive inflight entertainment options: "Passengers consistently praise Qatar Airways for attentive, polished cabin crews and well-presented meals."

Cathay Pacific tops the list thanks to ergonomic seat designs in quiet cabins aboard Airbus A350s or Boeing 777s. Passengers enjoy adjustable headrests, USB charging ports at each seat—and consistent service standards: "Passengers consistently highlight Cathay Pacific’s attentive cabin crew, efficient boarding process, and clean well-maintained cabins." This consistency ensures travelers experience reliable comfort regardless of route or destination.
