Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has launched a new weekly scheduled flight departing from Hanoi, Vietnam, on Mondays. This new route is intended to strengthen the company's service capabilities by enhancing connectivity between Asia and major European markets, supporting Vietnamese businesses in expanding their global trade.

The flight connects Incheon International Airport and Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport before proceeding to FedEx’s Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou, China. As a result, shipments originating from northern Vietnam can now reach destinations in Asia and Europe with one day less transit time. Exports heading to trans-Pacific regions such as the United States and Canada are also expected to benefit from improved reliability. The new service aims to help exporters respond more flexibly and reliably to increased shipping demand during the upcoming peak logistics season.

Ee-Hui Tan, Managing Director of FedEx Vietnam and Cambodia, said: "Vietnam is playing an increasingly important role in global supply chains, and we are committed to helping businesses in the north connect faster and more reliably with the world. This new flight further strengthens our network so customers can enjoy faster services, enhanced reliability, and greater shipping capacity—helping them gain a competitive edge in rapidly changing markets."

The launch of this route is anticipated to have positive effects across various local industries. Sectors with high demand such as electronics, textiles, and furniture are expected to see stronger trade links between Vietnam and Europe. According to the National Statistics Office of Vietnam, bilateral trade volume reached about $300 billion following the implementation of the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) in 2020. On this basis, Vietnam has become the EU's largest trading partner within ASEAN.

FedEx is aligning its network enhancements with this growth trend in trade so that exporters in northern Vietnam can better meet increasing European demand—a benefit that extends beyond large companies to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and e-commerce firms as well. With European consumers buying more Vietnamese goods online, reliable logistics solutions are seen as crucial for local businesses aiming for global competitiveness and expansion into new markets.

This new flight continues FedEx’s ongoing strategic investments and efforts to optimize its global air network in Vietnam. Earlier this year, FedEx introduced a direct service model; in October 2023 it expanded weekly flights from Ho Chi Minh City to cover Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. These continued service enhancements provide Vietnamese customers with faster cross-border connections while contributing to long-term economic growth.
