FedEx Express Corporation has announced an enhancement to its service in Northern Vietnam by adding a new outbound flight from Hanoi every Monday. This development aims to improve the region’s connectivity with major markets in Asia and Europe, supporting Vietnamese businesses as they expand their global trade activities.

The newly introduced route links Incheon International Airport in South Korea with Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, before proceeding to the FedEx Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou, China. With this addition, shipments from Northern Vietnam are expected to reach destinations in Asia and Europe one day faster. Exports to Trans-Pacific markets such as the United States and Canada will also see improved service reliability. The increased outbound capacity is intended to help exporters manage higher shipping demand during peak seasons.

“Vietnam continues to play a pivotal role in global supply chains, and we remain deeply committed to helping businesses in the North connect to the world with speed and reliability,” said Ee-Hui Tan, managing director FedEx of Vietnam and Cambodia. “This additional flight strengthens our network, empowering our customers with faster service, greater reliability and increased shipping capacity -- giving them a sharper competitive edge in an increasingly dynamic market.”

The new route is expected to strengthen trade between Vietnam and Europe, particularly for sectors like electronics, textiles, and furniture. Since the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) took effect in 2020, two-way trade between Vietnam and the European Union has grown significantly. According to the National Statistics Office of Vietnam, this figure has reached nearly USD300 billion since 2020. As a result, Vietnam has become the EU’s largest trading partner within ASEAN.

By expanding its network and services, FedEx aims to support exporters from Northern Vietnam as they respond to increasing demand from Europe. These improvements are designed not only for large corporations but also for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and e-commerce businesses. The growth of online shopping among European consumers for Vietnamese products underscores the need for faster logistics solutions that can help local companies compete internationally.

This latest outbound flight is part of FedEx’s ongoing investment strategy in Vietnam and its broader efforts to optimize its global air network. Previous initiatives include adopting a direct-serve model earlier this year and launching weekly flights from Ho Chi Minh City serving Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe starting October 2023. These steps reflect FedEx’s commitment to providing more reliable cross-border connections for Vietnamese customers while contributing to long-term economic growth.
