Marriott International has announced the launch of a new collection of outdoor-focused accommodations and a travel platform named Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors. This move comes after more than 80% of surveyed Marriott Bonvoy members expressed interest in trips involving outdoor activities.

"For the first time, travelers ranging from outdoor enthusiasts to new explorers will have the opportunity to discover, book, and unlock exclusive in-stay benefits based not only on where they want to go, but what they love to do," Marriott stated in its announcement.

Peggy Roe, chief customer officer and executive vice president at Marriott, said: "Travelers are telling us they want the freedom of nature paired with the trust, comfort, and rewards of Marriott Bonvoy, and that's a gap we are uniquely positioned to fill right now."

At launch, Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors will feature over 450 hotels worldwide that focus on outdoor experiences. The platform also includes 50,000 homes and villas as well as curated tours and activities centered around popular pursuits such as skiing, hiking, biking, surfing, fishing, kayaking, scuba diving and snorkeling. The service is accessible through both a dedicated website and the Marriott Bonvoy app. Users can search for options based on their preferred activities rather than specific destinations.

The Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy is described as "a curated portfolio [offering] outdoor-focused, design-forward stays in remarkable landscapes, from cabins tucked into woodlands near National Parks to boutique hotels on cliffs' edges." According to the company’s statement: "Hotels and resorts in the collection will combine unparalleled access to nature alongside the essential needs that hotel guests expect such as comfortable beds, hot running water, and dedicated restrooms."

Postcard Cabins and Trailborn Hotels are among the first brands included in this collection. Postcard Cabins operates 29 locations across the United States with rates starting at approximately $150 or 27,000 points per night. Trailborn Hotels offers boutique properties located from North Carolina’s beaches to areas near the Grand Canyon.

Marriott plans future expansion of its Outdoor Collection with additional boutique hotels and unique lodging options like yurts and ecolodges. In partnership with Outside Interactive beginning in 2026, special experiences—such as photo shoots in Hawaii or kayaking in the Maldives—will be available through Marriott Bonvoy Moments. Members who link their accounts with Outside Interactive's Outside+ can receive bonus points and exclusive content.

To promote this launch, Marriott has collaborated with Dylan Efron for a campaign called "Drop Pin Challenge," where participants can win part of a total prize pool of 10 million points by finding hidden map pins at various North American outdoor destinations including Yellowstone National Park; Moab; Maui; among others.

"With the new Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy brand, our curated Marriott Bonvoy Moments, and even playful activations like the Drop Pin Challenge with Dylan Efron we're not just offering places to stay," Roe said. "We're opening doors to experiences that inspire connect and stay with you long after the trip ends." She added: "This is just the beginning for Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors and the collection will continue to expand with new additions to be announced soon. Our ambition is to make the outdoors a long-lasting inspiring chapter of the Marriott Bonvoy story."

The initiative aims to provide travelers interested in nature-based vacations an integrated platform for booking accommodations themed around outdoor activities while staying within the broader loyalty program ecosystem offered by Marriott International.
