Since its first flight in November 2016 and subsequent entry into service, the Bombardier Global 7500 has set a new benchmark in business aviation by achieving 150 city-pair speed records. Bombardier made this announcement as it prepares for the introduction of its next model, the Global 8000.

According to Bombardier, the Global 7500 now holds more speed records than any other business aircraft type. The company stated that this milestone makes it "the most-decorated business aircraft type of all time," and paves the way for the upcoming Global 8000, which is expected to enter service later this year with a top speed of Mach 0.94.

Of the 150 city-pair records, Bombardier noted that on 20 routes, the jet averaged speeds exceeding 1,000 km/h (540 knots or approximately 621 mph). These results highlight the aircraft’s capability to transport passengers quickly between distant destinations. In addition to range and speed, the Global 7500 can accommodate up to 19 passengers and two pilots. In an eight-seat configuration designed for long-range flights, it can travel up to 7,700 nautical miles (14,300 km) nonstop.

The jet has set records on various high-profile routes including Tokyo–Los Angeles, Toronto–Paris, New York–London, and Hong Kong–Montreal. It also completed London City Airport’s longest-ever private flight to Los Angeles International Airport and achieved business aviation’s longest non-stop sector from Sydney to Detroit—a distance of over 8,225 nautical miles (15,232 km), surpassing its standard range specifications.

Bombardier emphasized how these achievements are impacting business aviation. Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President of Aircraft Sales at Bombardier, said: "The unique attributes of the Global 7500 aircraft will soon be enhanced with the introduction of the Global 8000 aircraft. Bombardier’s flagship for a new era is anticipated to have an industry-leading range of 8,000 nautical miles (14,816 km) and a top speed of Mach 0.94, making it the ultimate all-in-one business aircraft."

Gallagher further commented on customer expectations: "Our customers count on us to deliver a business tool with the highest standards in luxury, speed, and reliability, and the Global 7500 overachieves on all fronts." He added that many records were set with passengers aboard under different conditions at various airports: "Many of these records have been set with passengers on board in varying conditions and airports... [making] these achievements even more meaningful and reaching this pinnacle more remarkable."

The Global 7500 features a ‘Smooth Flex’ wing design aimed at improving aerodynamic efficiency while maintaining ride comfort. With its series of record-setting flights and upcoming enhancements via the new model launch later this year—following its first test flight in May—the company sees continued progress ahead.
