Long Beach Airport will host its annual Festival of Flight on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The event is expected to attract thousands of aviation enthusiasts and community members. Activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the west end of the airfield, located at 3590 East Wardlow Road.

The festival is free and open to all ages, with organizers estimating an attendance of around 15,000 people. Attractions include static aircraft displays, children’s activities, food and beer trucks, as well as performances by AbSOULute, DJ Dennis, and the Satin Dollz.

This year’s lineup features several notable aircraft such as the C-53 “D-Day Doll,” which participated in the D-Day invasion and Operation Market Garden; a KC-46 Pegasus military refueling aircraft; and the VX-31 Search and Rescue “Dust Devils,” a U.S. Navy helicopter crew involved in rescue missions for downed aircraft or missing persons. The Condor Squadron flying AT-6 Texan planes will conduct two flyovers during the event.

Mayor Rex Richardson stated, “Walking the airfield and seeing these planes up close is an experience like no other. Festival of Flight captures the energy of our historic airport and the community spirit that makes Long Beach unique.”

Fifth District Councilwoman Megan Kerr commented, “The Festival of Flight gives us the opportunity to witness the unique combination of innovation and history found at Long Beach Airport. It’s a special day where families, aviation enthusiasts and visitors come together to enjoy all that Long Beach Airport has to offer.”

Fourth District Councilman Daryl Supernaw added, “Festival of Flight is more than an event—it’s a chance for our community to experience the excitement of aviation up close. It’s a day full of fun, discovery and memories for people of all ages."

Airport Director Cynthia Guidry said, “We’re thrilled to welcome the community to Long Beach Airport for this beloved event. Festival of Flight is a chance to spark curiosity, share the excitement of aviation and create lasting memories for visitors of all ages.”

Since its inception in 2013 commemorating Long Beach Airport's 90th anniversary, Festival of Flight has become an annual tradition aimed at raising awareness about California’s oldest municipally owned airport.

Attendees are encouraged to bring water and wear appropriate shoes for outdoor conditions. Security measures include bag checks; coolers and sharp objects are prohibited. Service animals are allowed but pets are not permitted.

Free parking begins at 8 a.m. near East Wardlow Road and Globemaster Way with overflow parking available at Long Beach Airport Business Park on Airport Plaza Drive. Free shuttle service will be provided throughout the day by Jamison and Long Beach Transit.

Long Beach Airport serves as a hub between Los Angeles and Orange counties with airlines offering nonstop service to destinations across the United States including Hawaii.
