EVA Air has launched its first nonstop service between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Taipei, marking the airline's seventh U.S. destination. The inaugural flight took place Friday night and introduced EVA's new premium economy seats to the United States for the first time.

EVA Air President Clay Sun commented on the new route at DFW, stating, "This new route is about more flights, making connection. I think EVA is helping to [strengthen] the connection between, not only Taiwan, but Asia and [the] USA, especially Texas."

The introduction of this route supports DFW’s position as a major hub for travelers heading to destinations in Australia, Asia, and the South Pacific. In 2025, airlines are projected to offer 28% more seats from DFW across the Pacific compared to 2024. This growth includes recent launches such as Cathay Pacific’s service to Hong Kong and Fiji Airways’ flights to Nadi International Airport.

At a celebratory event held before departure at Terminal D, Ken Buchanan, executive vice president of DFW, said: "I am just excited for this route as I am for the World Cup," referencing Dallas’s role in hosting matches during the 2026 tournament.

The new premium economy product debuted on EVA’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The cabin features 28 recliner seats arranged in a 2-3-2 configuration with cradle-style reclining and enhanced amenities such as larger seatback screens and headrest wings for added privacy. These seats aim to provide an option between standard coach seating and EVA’s Royal Laurel business class.

Initially, EVA will operate three weekly round trips between Dallas and Taipei through November 18. The schedule will increase to five weekly trips before becoming daily starting December 15.

Travelers interested in booking with points or miles can transfer Citi ThankYou Rewards points directly to EVA Infinity MileageLands at a one-to-one ratio or Capital One miles at a reduced rate of four-to-three. Award space is also available through other Star Alliance partners including United Airlines and Air Canada.
