British Airways has announced it will add St Louis Lambert Field (STL) to its US network, connecting the city with London Heathrow (LHR) via four weekly flights operated by Boeing 787 aircraft. This new route expands the airline’s reach across North America and adds to its existing long-haul operations.

According to aviation analytics company Cirium, British Airways is scheduled to operate 2,882 flights between the United States and the United Kingdom in October 2025. This equates to nearly 93 flights per day throughout the month. The airline utilizes a range of widebody aircraft from both Airbus and Boeing for these transatlantic services.

The Airbus A380 is currently one of British Airways’ most distinctive jets, operating 310 US flights this month. Miami (MIA) is the top destination for the A380, receiving 37 round trips from London Heathrow—making it the only US city served more than daily by this aircraft type. Other cities served daily by the A380 include Boston (until October 25), Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.

Discussing its premium offerings aboard these aircraft, British Airways stated: "The airline’s new First has been carefully designed to provide the feel of a modern luxury hotel, alongside home comforts and thoughtful British touches at 35,000ft. The seat has been beautifully curated by expert designers and world-class manufacturers from all corners of Great Britain and Ireland, including London, Glasgow, West Yorkshire, Kilkeel, and Dublin."

The Airbus A350-1000 is another key component of BA’s fleet on US routes. In October 2025, this model will serve Las Vegas and Phoenix daily from Heathrow. Philadelphia will see near-daily service except for one day during the month. Denver will be served daily until October 25 before capacity shifts elsewhere with the IATA Winter Schedule change. After October 26, Austin and Dallas/Fort Worth will each have daily A350-1000 service from Heathrow.

Boeing widebodies form a significant part of British Airways' transatlantic operations as well. The Boeing 777 family accounts for 1,605 US flights in October alone. Out of London Gatwick Airport (LGW), the 777 serves Las Vegas, New York JFK, Orlando, and Tampa exclusively on US routes. From Heathrow, New York JFK sees up to eight daily rotations with BA's 777s—the highest frequency among US destinations.

Other major cities such as Boston, Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Los Angeles, Newark (EWR), Atlanta (ATL), Nashville (BNA), San Francisco (SFO), Baltimore (BWI), and San Diego (SAN) are also regularly served by BA’s Boeing fleet.

Additionally, British Airways deploys all three variants of the Boeing 787 on its US routes for a combined total of 707 flights in October. Chicago leads with 52 rotations using this aircraft type; Houston and Seattle are also served more than once per day on average. Other destinations seeing regular Dreamliner service include Boston, Washington D.C., Portland (PDX), Pittsburgh (PIT), Austin, and Cincinnati.

With ongoing adjustments based on seasonal demand and fleet planning strategies such as those associated with schedule changes like IATA’s Winter Schedule shift in late October—British Airways continues to refine its transatlantic offerings for travelers between London and multiple major US cities.
