Carsten Spohr Chief Executive Officer | Lufthansa Group

The Lufthansa Group and Singapore Airlines have announced the expansion of their joint venture to include Brussels Airlines. This move aims to strengthen the partnership between the two airline groups and provide more travel options between Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Starting October 26, 2025, customers will be able to book codeshare flights operated by Singapore Airlines between Singapore and Brussels under the Brussels Airlines code. The companies state that this will improve connectivity for travelers moving between Singapore, Belgium, and other destinations.

Felipe Bonifatti, Lufthansa Group Vice President Asia Pacific and Joint Ventures East, said: "The Asia Pacific region is home to more Lufthansa Group Joint Ventures than anywhere else in the world. The integration of Brussels Airlines into our Joint Venture with Singapore Airlines underlines our commitment to offering customers in APAC greater choice and seamless connectivity across Europe. This step is a natural progression of our long-standing partnership with Singapore Airlines.”

The joint venture between Lufthansa Group and Singapore Airlines recently marked its eighth anniversary. It currently provides access to joint fares across seven countries and twenty-six destinations. The latest expansion also includes intermodal feeder routes, such as bus or train services connecting passengers to airline hubs in Europe.

This development continues a partnership that began in 2017. The expanded framework could allow additional subsidiaries from both airline groups to join in the future, further increasing network access for travelers between Europe and Asia Pacific.

Lufthansa Group operates globally with over 100,000 employees from 164 nations. In 2024, it reported revenue of €37.6 billion. Its main business segment is passenger airlines, but it also has significant operations in logistics, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), IT services, and aviation training.
