Riyadh Air, the airline set to become Saudi Arabia's second flag carrier, has opened its first premium lounge at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The new facility, named the Hafawa Lounge, covers nearly 2,000 square meters and is located between Terminals 1 and 2.

The lounge can accommodate about 370 guests and features themed areas designed for relaxation, work, dining, and socializing. Riyadh Air partnered with Yabu Pushelberg studio to design the space. According to the airline, "Upon arrival, guests are warmly welcomed with authentic Saudi coffee and premium dates, a cherished tradition celebrating the Kingdom's timeless generosity. (...) Every element has been meticulously considered to evoke cultural pride."

The lounge offers several dedicated food and beverage areas. The Cafe serves coffee and pastries, while the Buffet & Social Dining area provides a communal eating experience. An Executive Dining area overlooks a garden for those seeking a quieter setting. The Social Lounge is available for conversation, and there are also private rooms for families or groups as well as an Immersive Room featuring digital experiences.

Access to the Hafawa Lounge is exclusive to Riyadh Air’s Business Elite and Business Class travelers. The airline emphasizes technological features in the lounge such as "intuitive digital wayfinding" and "interactive engagement touchpoints." Barrier-free access is also provided.

Riyadh Air states that it aims to offer more than just a waiting area: "the airline remains 'firmly committed to shaping the future of global travel.'" The company says its goal is for passengers’ journeys to begin in the lounge itself with "a sense of dynamic movement and boundless possibility" inspired by its design.
