In October, airlines in the United States have scheduled 717,808 domestic flights, according to data from Cirium. These flights will provide nearly 93 million seats and over 83 billion available seat miles (ASMs) across a wide range of destinations.

The busiest domestic route by flight frequency is between Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC) and Kenai Municipal Airport (ENA) in Alaska. This short route, covering about 60 miles, will see 1,167 departures from Anchorage and 1,162 from Kenai this month. Grant Aviation is the main operator on this corridor with up to 27 round trips daily using Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft. Sterling Airways also serves the route twice daily with Saab 2000 planes, while Kenai Aviation averages just under twelve rotations per day with Tecnam P2012s. Grant Aviation noted: "In addition to our scheduled flights, Grant Aviation offers charter flight services. (...) A charter includes the entire aircraft and your pilot for the amount of time necessary to reach your desired destination."

For total seat capacity, the most traveled domestic route is between New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). Four major airlines—American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Spirit—will offer almost 160,000 seats each way throughout October on this corridor. The capacity is spread across more than a thousand flights in both directions. While Spirit has fewer daily rotations early in the month that increase later on, Delta schedules between four and nine round trips per day for a total of 251 for the month. American operates between six and ten daily trips—including some with regional partners—for a total of 295 round trips. United leads with nine to fifteen daily departures totaling 441 round trips.

When measured by available seat miles—a metric combining distance flown with seating capacity—the busiest U.S. domestic route links New York JFK Airport with Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). In October, four airlines—American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, and Frontier—have scheduled a combined total of 897 flights each way on this transcontinental corridor. More than 153,000 seats are offered in both directions along with approximately 379 million ASMs per direction for the month. Frontier operates one rotation per day; American runs 279 round trips; Delta schedules slightly more at 289; JetBlue leads with 297 round trips. Despite not having the highest number of flights among these carriers on this route in October 2025, Delta offers the most seats and ASMs because it uses larger widebody aircraft such as Boeing’s 767.
