Hotels.com has introduced a new feature called Save Your Way, giving its members more flexibility in how they use discounts when booking hotels. The tool, which is exclusive to Hotels.com, allows users to either apply member discounts of up to 20% immediately at checkout or save those discounts for future travel.

Previously, discounts were automatically applied at the time of booking and payment. With Save Your Way, members now have the option to pay full price for their current stay and bank the value of the discount as OneKeyCash in their Hotels.com account. This balance can then be used on a later trip.

For example, if a member has access to a 20% Member Price discount on a $200 hotel room, they can choose to either pay $160 by using the discount immediately or pay the full $200 and receive $40 in OneKeyCash for future use.

"Travelers want flexibility and to maximize the value they get out of every trip, whether they're booking for business or a vacation," said Hari Nair, general manager of Hotels.com. He added that this new, creative approach to rewards bucks the "one-size-fits-all approach" to loyalty programs and gives members choices.

The company believes different types of travelers will benefit from this program. Business travelers who do not need savings on every trip but want to accumulate rewards over time may find it useful. Leisure travelers can bank rewards for future vacations, while those focused on maximizing loyalty benefits may appreciate increased flexibility.

Hotels.com is part of One Key, a unified loyalty program that also includes Expedia and Vrbo. This integration enables members to earn rewards across all three platforms and progress through elite status tiers for additional perks such as bonus OneKeyCash and potential room upgrades.
