American Airlines has announced changes to its 2026 flight schedule, focusing on popular domestic vacation spots. The airline will offer new and expanded weekend routes from New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to several Southeast destinations between mid-February and mid-March.

The new flights include service from LGA to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) in Florida and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) in Georgia, both starting February 13. Additionally, flights from LGA to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) in South Carolina will begin March 13. These routes will operate southbound on Fridays and Saturdays with return trips on Saturdays and Sundays, giving travelers flexibility for short getaways. The flights are scheduled through September 8.

According to American Airlines, the LGA-JAX and LGA-MYR schedules represent an expansion compared to previous years. In particular, the airline last operated LGA-MYR service in 2021 when domestic leisure travel was more prominent due to the pandemic.

All three routes will use Embraer 170 or 175 regional jets under the American Eagle brand. These aircraft feature both first-class recliners and Main Cabin Extra seats.

For summer 2026, American plans additional nonstop service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Starting June 18, these daily flights will run through October 4 using Airbus A319 aircraft. This marks a return of JFK-Jackson Hole service for the first time since 2022.

The airline is also extending its seasonal nonstop flights between Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) in Colorado. Flights will be available from June 18 through September 8 using A319 planes.

In total, American says it has added thirty new routes for summer 2026.

"American knows summer is a time for traveling to new destinations, making memories with friends [and] families, and revisiting fond favorites, and that's why we continue to add new routes," said Jordan Pack, American's Director of Domestic Network Planning.

Travelers can use AAdvantage miles for these flights or transfer Citi ThankYou Rewards points at a one-to-one rate if eligible. There are also opportunities to book American flights through Atmos Rewards as part of Alaska Airlines’ and Hawaiian Airlines’ shared loyalty program.
