The Airbus A320 is recognized as the world's most widely sold aircraft, with over 12,000 units delivered globally. Its widespread use spans many airlines and routes, but some flights on this model are rare, operating only once a year according to data from Cirium.

One such flight connects Berlin Brandenburg Airport in Germany to Hurghada International Airport in Egypt. Operated by Avion Express Malta, this direct service covers 2,030 miles and provides 151 seats each way. The airline is a subsidiary of Avion Express and specializes in ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) operations for charters.

Another unique route by Avion Express Malta links Cluj-Napoca’s Avram Iancu International Airport in Romania with Hurghada. This service also uses an A320 with 151 seats and travels 1,460 miles. Cluj-Napoca is Romania's second-largest city and its airport sees a variety of year-round operators including Wizz Air, which has established a hub there.

FLYYO, a Romanian charter operator using three leased Airbus A320s from Air Lease Corporation, operates several rare routes. One annual flight connects Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport to Košice International Airport in Slovakia—a city known for its UNESCO-protected forests and winter tourism. Another FLYYO-operated route flies between Kaunas in Lithuania and Athens in Greece; Kaunas Airport is the country’s second busiest and Ryanair’s main base there.

A further FLYYO flight links Kraków John Paul II International Airport in Poland with Tel Aviv. FLYYO began charter operations in April 2024 under CEO Ziv Mayberg from its headquarters near Bucharest Otopeni.

FLYYO will also operate a single annual charter connecting Ilan and Asaf Ramon International Airport (Eilat Ramon) in Israel to Paris Charles de Gaulle. Eilat Ramon typically handles domestic flights or international charters due to limited scheduled services after Ryanair exited the market following regional conflict.

In Asia, Sichuan Airlines schedules just one annual A320 service between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Chiang Mai International Airport in Thailand—Chiang Mai being the fourth busiest airport in Thailand and an important gateway to northern regions.

Finally, Sichuan Airlines plans one yearly flight between Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and Pu'er Simao Airport in China’s Yunnan province—an area notable for Pu'er tea production. Pu'er Simao is served by only two year-round carriers aside from these special services.

These unique flights highlight both the global reach of the Airbus A320 family as well as the specific needs met by ACMI providers like Avion Express Malta and niche operators such as FLYYO.
