Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) is increasing its support for businesses in the Asia Pacific region as they adapt to changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and market priorities.

In response to recent changes in U.S. de minimis exemption rules, FedEx organized a series of webinars across nine Asia Pacific markets. More than 3,800 customers from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to multinational companies participated. The sessions focused on maintaining operational efficiency, customs clearance processes, avoiding unexpected costs, and using enhanced shipping automation tools.

Feedback from these webinars revealed that while one-fourth of surveyed Asia Pacific businesses still see the United States as their main market, over 40% plan to shift their focus toward intra-Asia trade (22%) and Europe (21%) within the next year. Cost control and visibility into duties are key concerns, with 25% of businesses seeking clear information about pre-shipment duties, taxes, and Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) fees. Regulatory volatility remains a significant challenge; 27% of respondents cited difficulties keeping up with changing rules as a major barrier to trade.

FedEx is expanding its suite of offerings in response to business calls for more trade guidance and digital solutions that support supply chain diversification and cross-border expansion. According to survey results, 24% of businesses want direct access to regulatory and compliance experts. FedEx says it is one of the largest entry-filers in the U.S., providing round-the-clock support for shipments moving through more than 220 countries and territories.

For those trading with the U.S., FedEx offers its U.S. Tariff Hub as a resource for updated information on tariffs, customs policies, required documentation, impact summaries, product fact sheets, service details, and tutorials.

Digital innovation remains a priority for many APAC businesses; 27% seek automated tools to speed up customs clearance. In response, FedEx has introduced an AI-enabled Harmonized Tariff Schedule code lookup feature and a Customs AI chatbot designed to help shippers provide accurate item descriptions and HS code matching—aimed at reducing delays and improving compliance.

To strengthen connectivity within critical intra-Asia and Asia-Europe corridors as companies diversify beyond U.S.-focused trade routes, FedEx launched its Go-To Europe Hub across five Asia Pacific markets: Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Singapore. This hub provides guidelines and resources on fedex.com tailored for small businesses seeking opportunities in European markets.

Additionally, FedEx has expanded intra-Asia services by introducing new flight routes from South Korea to Vietnam with onward service to Guangzhou’s Asia Pacific Hub in China as well as direct flights from South Korea to Taiwan.
