Austrian company JP Hospitality has announced plans to launch a new airport hotel brand named Pan Am Hotel, aiming to evoke the atmosphere of the golden age of travel associated with Pan American Airways. The announcement was made at the Expo Real real estate trade fair in Munich.

According to JP Hospitality, the first group of Pan Am Hotels is expected to open in 2028 at airports across Europe. The company stated it already has a pipeline of suitable airport assets and is also negotiating potential properties outside Europe.

JP Hospitality described its vision for the hotels as providing "airport hospitality that excites guests" with round-the-clock service and a midcentury modern design reminiscent of classic Pan Am style. Gebhard Schachermayer, CEO of PNMB Brand GmbH and managing partner of JP Hospitality, said, "With the launch of Pan Am Hotel, we are setting a new benchmark in airport hospitality. Airports deserve better hotels — without inflated prices, but with comfort, quality, and innovation!"

Travelers interested in experiencing the concept ahead of time can visit existing Pan Am-themed locations operated by JP Hospitality in Berlin—a lounge and suite—and two boutique hotels in Vienna that will soon display "operated by Pan Am Hotel" on their signage.

Other hotel brands have also tapped into airline nostalgia. Earlier this year, Hilton announced it would open a Pan Am-themed hotel in Los Angeles in 2026. Unlike JP Hospitality's focus on airport locations, this property will be situated at Citadel Outlets shopping mall. In New York City, travelers can stay at the TWA Hotel at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), which occupies the original TWA Flight Center and features retro designs along with amenities like a rooftop pool overlooking airport runways.

It will take several years before travelers see the new Pan Am Hotel brand established at European airports. However, once operational, these properties aim to reflect both vintage aesthetics and high standards of service inspired by Pan Am's legacy.
