Joerg Eberhart Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ITA Airways | ITA Airways

Since August 2022, ITA Airways has experienced significant changes in its operations and fleet. At that time, the Italian airline operated 56 aircraft and was part of the SkyTeam alliance. As of October 2025, ITA Airways has expanded its fleet to more than 100 aircraft. The company is also transitioning from SkyTeam to integration with Star Alliance.

This growth marks a notable development for the carrier as it continues to modernize its fleet and adapt its strategic partnerships. The move to Star Alliance represents a shift in ITA Airways' global network alignment.

The expansion of ITA Airways’ fleet reflects the airline’s commitment to modernization and competitiveness within the European aviation market.
