On October 3, 2025, a Ryanair flight traveling from Pisa to Prestwick was forced to make an emergency landing at Manchester Airport. The Boeing 737-800 had tried to land at Prestwick several times but was unable to do so due to high winds. The crew then attempted to divert to Edinburgh, but conditions there also prevented a safe landing.

Eventually, the aircraft landed safely at Manchester Airport. According to reports, the jet had only enough fuel left for a few more minutes of flight when it touched down.
