FedEx has played a significant role in expanding the international reach of Ecuadorian coffee, transporting over 1.2 million pounds from Ecuador and Colombia in fiscal year 2025. The company’s logistics solutions have contributed to a 33% year-over-year increase in the weight of exported coffee.
According to the National Association of Coffee Exporters of Ecuador (ANECAFÉ), between January and June 2025, Ecuador exported $55.3 million worth of green coffee, totaling 186,025 thousand sacks. The main destinations for these exports were Germany, Colombia, and the United States, which accounted for 35%, 14%, and 13% of shipments respectively. This performance highlights the resilience and growth of Ecuador’s coffee sector as it continues to establish itself in international markets.
Eduardo Garrido, senior manager of ramp operations and customs agency at FedEx for Colombia and Ecuador, stated: "Our commitment goes beyond transportation. We are proud to be a bridge so that a flagship product like coffee can reach new markets, supported by the FedEx Southern Cone flight that has just completed one year of operations connecting Quito directly with Miami. The extensive FedEx network offers average delivery times of 48 to 72 hours from Quito, which is essential to maintain product quality."
