Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has announced an increase in its air cargo capacity between Asia Pacific (APAC) and Europe by adding five weekly flights to its schedule. The new flights will connect APAC markets with the FedEx European hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. According to the company, this move is intended to enhance service reliability on the Asia-Europe trade route and provide businesses with faster, more flexible access to European markets ahead of the year-end shopping season.

Industry data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) shows that air freight volumes between Europe and Asia have grown for 30 consecutive months, including a 13% increase in August 2025 compared to the previous year. The European Union remains a key import market for over 100 countries, while APAC economies are among its most rapidly growing suppliers.

Salil Chari, senior vice president of Marketing and Customer Experience for Asia Pacific at FedEx, stated: “The Asia-Europe corridor is one of the highest growing trade lanes. In our survey of nearly 4,000 customers in Asia this year, over 20% said they plan to shift their trading focus to Europe over the next 12 months. We are adapting quickly and flexing our network to create a blueprint for the next wave of opportunity for Asia’s expanding trade ecosystem. Through enhanced connectivity between APAC and Europe, we are helping businesses respond to market changes, reach new customers, tap growth and strengthen their position in global trade.”

With these additional flights, FedEx now operates a total of 26 weekly flights connecting shipments from APAC to Europe. This enables express deliveries to major European destinations in as little as 48 hours. The company has also recently increased connectivity from Northern Vietnam to Europe in an effort to further support trade links for Asian importers and exporters.

FedEx uses hubs in Paris, Cologne, Liège, and its new global air transit facility in Istanbul to offer businesses improved speed and flexibility during peak periods. These developments are part of FedEx’s ongoing strategy to strengthen supply chains and facilitate international commerce for companies across Asia Pacific.
