FedEx has played a significant role in supporting the international expansion of Colombian and Ecuadorian coffee, according to a recent announcement from the company. In fiscal year 2025, FedEx transported more than 1.2 million pounds of coffee from Colombia and Ecuador, marking a 33% year-over-year increase in exported weight.

The company highlights its logistics solutions as a factor contributing to this growth. FedEx’s global network connects over 220 countries and territories, enabling rapid, traceable, and reliable deliveries of coffee to consumers worldwide.

Data from the National Federation of Coffee Growers shows that Colombia exported $2.683 billion worth of coffee between January and June 2025, an increase of 83.3% compared to the same period last year. This performance demonstrates the resilience and growth of Colombia’s coffee sector as it continues to strengthen its position in international markets. Eduardo Garrido, senior manager of ramp operations and customs agency for FedEx in Colombia and Ecuador, said, “Our commitment goes beyond transportation. At FedEx, we are proud to be a bridge for an iconic product like coffee to reach new markets, supported by innovation and world-class logistics standards. The extensive FedEx network offers average delivery times of 48 to 72 hours from Bogotá and Medellín, which is essential to maintain product quality.”

FedEx has strengthened its infrastructure in Bogotá and Medellín, adding facilities such as cold storage rooms and direct connections to Miami. Miami is one of the main entry points for perishable goods in Latin America. The United States remains one of the top three buyers of Colombian coffee, with purchases increasing by 81% in the first six months of this year. Details on these figures are available at https://www.portafolio.co/economia/agro/crecen-exportaciones-de-cafe-colombiano-en-2025-con-huila-y-antioquia-al-frente-637387.

The company’s service portfolio ranges from palletized cargo to small priority shipments. These solutions allow freshly roasted coffee from Colombian farms to reach consumers in North America and other markets, passing through the cargo center at Miami International Airport, which houses FedEx’s largest global cold storage facilities.
