FedEx has announced the addition of five new weekly cargo flights between China and Paris, France, aiming to expand its global network and enhance connectivity between Asia and Europe. The new flights are intended to support Asian businesses in reaching European markets more quickly and reliably, particularly during the peak shipping season around year-end holidays.

Three of the new flights will depart from FedEx’s Asia Pacific hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, while two will leave from the company’s Shanghai International Express and Cargo Hub. All five routes will use B777 freighters and connect with the FedEx European hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. According to FedEx, this expansion is designed to help regional companies capitalize on high-demand sectors such as e-commerce, manufacturing, high-tech, and retail, especially during peak holiday shipping periods.

Trade between Asia and Europe continues to grow. In the first half of this year, China’s imports and exports with the European Union reached 2.82 trillion yuan, a 3.5% increase compared to last year. The EU remains China’s second-largest trading partner, accounting for 12.9% of China’s total foreign trade value (https://www.gov.cn/lianbo/fabu/202507/content_7031904.htm). Both regions are each other’s largest sources of consumer goods imports (https://www.gov.cn/lianbo/fabu/202507/content_7031904.htm), and there has been notable growth in Chinese exports of auto parts, textiles, home appliances, and laptops to Europe (https://www.gov.cn/lianbo/fabu/202507/content_7031904.htm).

FedEx China President Bao Yan Xu said: “As global trade patterns continue to evolve, the importance of the European market in Chinese companies’ globalization strategies is becoming increasingly prominent. FedEx continues to optimize its Asia-Europe network layout to meet customers’ growing needs for logistics speed and flexibility. The addition of these flights marks a significant step in enhancing our international air capacity, providing stronger service capability and reliability for trade routes from Asia-Pacific to Europe. By expanding our global transportation network, we help customers seize opportunities during peak shipping seasons, optimize their logistics experience, and seamlessly connect with the European market.”

With these additional flights between Asia Pacific and Europe, FedEx now operates 26 weekly flights carrying cargo from Asia Pacific to Europe. Deliveries can reach major European markets within 48 hours. The company maintains six port operation centers in China—located in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao, and Xiamen—and three major air logistics hubs in Europe: Paris, Cologne, and Liège. A recently opened facility in Istanbul further strengthens FedEx’s capabilities along this route.

FedEx states that its broad logistics network enables businesses to efficiently access key European markets while supporting smooth trade flows and business growth.
