Eileen Ho, the Human Resources Manager of Flying Food Group, announced that the company will implement wage increases for cooks and coordinators following a lack of response from Unite Here to its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This statement was communicated via text message.

"Unite Here has STILL NOT responded to Flying Food Group's MOU with YOUR proposed wage rate increases: $25.50 for Cooks and $27.00 for Coordinators," said Ho, HR Manager.

According to UNITE HERE Local 2's official site, the union represents hospitality workers across San Francisco and nearby counties. It describes having more than 15,000 members and covers roles in hotels, restaurants, and airport food services. The site also outlines the union's organizing, bargaining, and member support functions, which include workplaces at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

The City and County of San Francisco's official Minimum Wage Ordinance poster states that the minimum wage will be $19.18 per hour effective July 1, 2025. This rate applies to all employees working in San Francisco for at least two hours per week. The ordinance establishes a local wage floor against which higher industry or employer rates can be compared.

For covered airport workers at SFO, the Quality Standards Program (QSP) sets a minimum hourly rate of $22.04 effective July 1, 2025. The QSP framework is detailed by the City and County of San Francisco as a program adopted by the Airport Commission to enhance safety and security.
