Alex Antilla, Vice President - Latin America | Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines and LATAM Airlines Group have marked three years since the launch of their Joint Venture, reporting significant growth in capacity and route expansion between North and South America. Since 2022, the partnership has led to an 88% increase in combined capacity, measured by available seat kilometers (ASKs). The collaboration has enabled the addition of nine new routes, operation of over 62,000 flights, and transportation of 14.5 million passengers connecting the United States and Canada with several South American countries including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay.

Key developments in the third year include extending coverage to Argentina for travel across the Americas and launching new routes such as Lima-Orlando, Buenos Aires-Miami, Guayaquil-New York, and Lima-Salt Lake City.

Alex Antilla, Vice President for Latin America and the Caribbean at Delta Air Lines said: "Our agreement with LATAM is more than just connectivity: it's about creating a travel experience customers love, with more destinations, more benefits and more reasons to choose Delta and LATAM. Through this Joint Venture, we’re not only bringing regions closer together but also delivering innovative services and enhanced travel options that set a new standard for our customers."

The joint network uses major gateways in North America—Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO), Salt Lake City (SLC)—and key South American cities including Bogotá (BOG), Cartagena (CTG), Fortaleza (FOR), Lima (LIM), Quito (UIO), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Santiago (SCL), São Paulo (GRU) and Buenos Aires (EZE). Together they now operate 30 direct routes between the continents.

Soledad Berrios, Director of Strategic Alliances at LATAM group stated: "The capacity growth, combined with Delta's more than 200 destinations in the United States and Canada and LATAM's more than 130 destinations in South America, means the Joint Venture plays a fundamental role in connecting the region, offering the largest and most diverse network in terms of destinations and travel options."

Passengers benefit from shared frequent flyer programs allowing joint accumulation of miles or points. Access is granted to over 53 Delta Sky Clubs lounges in the U.S. as well as six LATAM lounges located mainly in South America’s major cities. Elite members enjoy reciprocal privileges such as priority check-in, boarding processes, baggage handling among other advantages.

Cargo operations have also expanded; since its start, cargo tonnage moved jointly by Delta has increased by 356%, totaling 2,093 tons so far in 2025. The airlines have implemented digital tracking systems for shipments along with standardized main products across both companies’ networks to improve service reliability.

Both airlines affirmed ongoing commitment to growing their network within their shared geography while focusing on providing new experiences for travelers and supporting opportunities throughout communities across the Americas.
