JetBlue has announced it will end flights to Bonaire’s Flamingo International Airport (BON) on January 3, 2026. The decision comes less than fourteen months after the airline launched the route in November 2024 as part of a broader network overhaul that included new destinations and expanded service in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Bonaire, a Caribbean island belonging to the Netherlands, was introduced as a leisure-focused destination for JetBlue. This approach was aligned with the airline’s ongoing JetForward strategy, which aims to prioritize routes catering to leisure travelers from New York and Boston.
A spokesperson for JetBlue confirmed the upcoming exit and provided an explanation: "we're always working to fine-tune our network to best align with customer demand and support our long-term success. As part of this, JetBlue will end its once-weekly service between New York (JFK) and Bonaire (BON) after local authorities informed us they will be ending a multi-year revenue guarantee early."
